Rooms
Diverse Learning Environments
Thirty-five years ago, the very foundation of our centre was laid with a touch of creativity and a deep connection to our surroundings. Our rooms carry names thoughtfully chosen by the founding group of children, inspired by our close proximity to the beach. This highlights our commitment to incorporating the voices of our children in shaping the essence of our centre, celebrating our unique location and the imaginative insights of our earliest members.
Seals
In the Seals room we have a group of 8 children and 3 educators that support the day.

This room runs on the individual routines of the children and can adapt their environment to suit those in it. Breastfeeding parents are supported in the environment, allowing them to visit and feed their child throughout the day if required.
The Seals have a separate sleep room to provide a calm space to promote sleep time. The Seals also have their own separate outdoor area that can be set up with
intentional experiences suited to the individual needs.
Turtles
Turtles have a group of 12 children and 4 educators that work in this room.
This room has 2 separate indoor spaces and a large outdoor area to allow these budding Toddlers space and freedom to move.
The Turtles transition to mats after lunch to provide sleep and rest opportunities, however the environment can be adapted if sleep/ rest is required outside of this
time.
Dolphins
Dolphins have a total of 15 children within their space with 4 educators supporting the group.
This room shares a very large, natural yard with the Seahorse children. This enables scaffolding and citizenship opportunities to naturally occur.
The Dolphins transition to sleep/rest time after lunch and each child is offered their own mat with a blanket and comforters as required.
Seahorses
Seahorses have a group of 20 children and 3 educators working directly with them.
This group has 2 separate indoor play spaces and shares a large/ natural yard with the Dolphin children.
The Seahorses have an important role of citizenship throughout the centre and often engage and mentor the younger rooms with activities, mealtimes and play
opportunities.
